Hiro (Darling In The Franxx) Rule 34

Hiro is the central male protagonist of Darling in the Franxx, a pilot known by the designation Code 016, from which his nickname derives. In the series he serves as a parasite trained to operate a Franxx mecha, and he is most closely associated with Zero Two, with whom he pilots Strelizia. Visually he is recognised by his dark hair, blue eyes and a slim pilot suit, and later in the story he develops a pair of blue horns that fan artists frequently include, often marking such works as spoilers. His personality is earnest, determined and quietly compassionate, driven by a wish to belong and to protect those close to him. Fan art tends to place him beside Zero Two in romantic or paired compositions, and also alongside other pilots and mecha. Artists often emphasise the contrast between his gentle expression and the intensity of combat, and many focus on his bond with Zero Two, the horns, and his role within Strelizia.
