Akari Mizunashi is the central figure of the Aria manga and its predecessor Aqua. She works as a gondolier, or undine, for the Aria Company in Neo-Venezia, a city modeled after Venice on the terraformed planet Aqua. Her mentor is Alicia Florence, and the company mascot is Aria Pokoteng. Akari has pink hair and green eyes. For most of the series, she wears her hair short with long sidelocks and parted bangs, often accessorized with hair tubes or ribbons. In her adult years, her hair grows very long, with the tubes placed lower and the sidelocks looping into a ponytail, a style sometimes called a momitail. She typically wears the Aria Company uniform, a white outfit with blue trim, a bowtie, and a circular logo, along with black patches bearing yellow lettering. Summer and winter variations exist, the latter featuring a v-tailed mantle and purple pantyhose. Akari is known for her gentle, optimistic, and curious personality, often finding joy in everyday moments. Fan artists frequently depict her in her uniform, capturing her serene demeanor and the distinctive details of her hair and attire.
